1933 CLAIM

Sigma Lambda Phi of the Philippines claims to be tracing their history from a now-defunct sorority also named Sigma Lambda Phi in Duquesne University at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA that was founded somewhere between 1933-1934. However, it was reported that Sigma Lambda Phi in the United States has no legal connection of Sigma Lambda Phi of the Philippines, as the former was a sorority and not a confraternity unlike the latter's claim. Another alleged claim of the Sigma Lambda Phi of the Philippines is that it was founded in Renfrew, Ontario, Canada despite of Renfrew having no existing universities / colleges
